Happening This Weekend: Art, Music and More

Enjoy a concert outdoors, an art benefit or festival fun this weekend and a bit beyond.

There's plenty afoot this weekend, from beautiful causes to sidewalk sales and, of course, a show or two.


Where/When: , 6 p.m. July 29.
Why Go: The Great Frame Up is holding a reception and sale featuring local artists, the proceeds of which will benefit The Lake House, which offers free support to those affected by cancer. The art work of Grosse Pointers Jane McFeely, Rosemary Bay and Tricia Smiley Wood will be sold.

There is no cost to attend. Beverages and appetizers will be served.

Why Go: Enjoy a live concert — this week it's Pelts & Company performing big band and ballroom standards — and dancing at Metro Beach.
Pricing: "Free" with park pass, $5 for the day, or $25 for an annual pass, or $15 for seniors.


Where/When: Wahby Park, 24800 Jefferson; 7-8 p.m. Aug. 1.
Why Go: Beat the Monday blahs with a free concert in the park. Tonight, the Nicolia String Quartet performs.
