Happening This Week: Fairy Tale Endings, Wagon Rides, Art in the Park
Plenty to amuse the youngsters as the days of summer draw to a close.
Where/When: , Sept. 13-18.
Why Go: The Edsel & Eleanor Ford House's exhibit, Fairy Tale Art: Illustrations from Children's Books, has only a few more days before the show closes on Sept. 18. Guests can enjoy 59 original illustrations from beloved fairy tale classics, many by award-winning artists from around the globe.
Pricing: Exhibit is included with entrance to Ford House, or free for members. Otherwise it's $12 for adults, $11 seniors, $8 children 6-12, or free for 5 and younger.
Where/When: , Sept. 16-18.
Why Go: Our Lady of Hope holds its Family Fun Festival, three days of fun, including a parade to jump start the fun, starting at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 16, from Gaffke Park. Be sure to wear something tropical. Also, 50/50 drawings will be held hourly all weekend long. There will be children's rides, games, Vegas and entertainment tents set up, festival foods, baked goodies and donuts, and a huge raffle, where tickets run $5 and prizes range from $200 to $12,000.
Where/When: , 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 17 and 18.
Why Go: The 24th annual Lac Ste. Claire Fine Art Fair will be held this weekend at Veterans Memorial Park. Enjoy the works of more than 60 artists, a kids art tent, artists doing caricatures and charcoal drawings, food, and plenty of fun. Admission and parking are free.

Where/When: St. John Lutheran Church, 16339 E. 14 Mile Road, Fraser; 6-8:30 p.m. Sept. 17.
Why Go: MCFARES (Michigan Coalition for Fetal Alcohol Resources Education and Support) is holding a Dance-A-Thon to "Stomp out FASD" (fetal alcohol spectrum disorder) featuring "My Chance to Dance." There will be foods and baked goods for sale, and a Tin Can auction is also planned.

Why Go: Spend the day at the Farm Center and enjoy a wagon ride (weather permitting) around the countryside. Afterwards, sip on a cup of freshly made cider and nibble on a donut from an area orchard. Plus, all barns will be open so everyone can meet the farm animals.
