Travel to Oz, fight intolerance, enjoy a few laughs and more this week.

From promoting kindness and compassion to going to "Oz," there's plenty going on this week.

Where/When: Wednesday, March 30, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Why Go: South Lake Middle and High schools are hosting Rachel's Challenge. Rachel Scott was the first person killed at the Columbine High School massacre, and the program named in her honor works to promote kindness and compassion while eliminating bullying and prejudice.

Why Go: The War Memorial is holding a family workshop on "Sibling Teasing and Bullying," oriented toward children ages 6-14. This seminar will help children and young teens learn the negative impact of their bullying and teach them how to handle these tough situations. Parents participate in their own workshop at the same time.

Pricing: $49 for two siblings and parents, $16 each additional child.

Where/When: , Friday, 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday,  2 p.m.

Why Go: Travel down the Yellow Brick Road and be transported back to that childhood classic as Dorothy tries to find her way back home to Kansas with the help of her friends the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion—on ice, no less!

KIDS' FLICKS FOR THE FRUGAL FAMILY

Where/When: Chesterfield Crossing Cinemas, 50675 Gratiot Ave., Chesterfield; Saturday and Sunday, varying times (released after March 29).

Why Go: Enjoy a free (for the kids) family flick at Chesterfield Crossing the weekend of April 2-3, where the flick pick is Megamind.

Pricing: Free for kids 12 and under—until theater capacity is reached, and $1 for adults.

Where/When: , Saturday, April 2. Doors open at 5 p.m.; Swing Shift Orchestra performs at 5:30 p.m.; and Coulier performs at 7 p.m.

Why Go:Whether you love his stand-up, his uncanny impersonations or remember him fondly as Uncle Joey on Full House, come see hometown hero Dave Coulier take to the stage to benefit the St. Clair Shores Memorial Day Parade.

Pricing: $20 Adults, $10 seniors and students with ID, children 5 and under free. VIP tickets $50 per person include Meet & Greet with Dave Coulier and pictures.

NATURE STORY TIME FOR TOTS

Where/When: Metro Beach Nature Center, 31300 Metropolitan Parkway, Harrison Township, Saturday, 11 a.m.

Why Go: Youngsters will love the story of Mousekins and learning about animals in the springtime via a story, activity, hike and craft. Best for ages 3-5, accompanied by adult.
