Get Out: Weekend Fun in the Shores

Music, food and getting "Footloose" this weekend.

Why Go: Learn to trace your ancestry back to the old country using various data resources available to you. The St. Clair Shores Geneaology Group will show you how and help get you started on your search.
Pricing: Free.


Where/When: , Friday-Satruday, 7 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy the now-classic songs and enjoy the fight for the right to dance, as South Lake High School's Drama Club performs "Footloose: The Musical."
Pricing: Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, $5 for students and children.


Where/When: , Friday-Saturday, 9:30 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy a night of raucus fun as Groove Council brings its blend of funk, R&B, Motown and soul to the stage.
Pricing: $4 cover. On Fridays Blue Goose also has Friday Feast lunch and dinner specials.

Where/When: The Happy Scrapper, Saturday, 9 a.m-1:30 a.m.
Why Go: The Happy Scrapper is home to an all-day (and much of the night) scrapbooking crop to raise funds for the St. Clair Shores Memorial Day Parade. Attend and enjoy three meals, and hours and hours of creative camaraderie.
Pricing: $35 per person.

Where/When: Barrister Gardens, Sunday, 1-5 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy selections from more than 30 area restaurants, live entertainment, auctions and more, all to benefit Lake Shore High School's athletic department.
Pricing: $10 in advance; $15 at the door. Call 586-285-8920 to get your tickets early.
