Families who have lost a child are invited to a Candle Lighting for Bereaved Parents at 7 p.m. tonight at Veterans Memorial Park.
Organizer Kathy Joerin lost her son Mark in 2000, and helped bring this memorial to St. Clair Shores three years ago.
"As anyone who has lost a child knows, it is a very devastating loss," she said. "It is a hole you can not heal."

Around the world, Compassionate Friends sponsors this event as a memorial and way for families to share and console each other.
