DIA in the Shores: A Day on the Beach
"Bude Sands" is part of the Detroit Institute of Arts Inside/Out program in the Shores.
When considering works of art to display in St. Clair Shores for the Inside|Out program, it would seem appropriate for the Detroit Institute of Arts to select one with a beach.
A digital reproduction of Bude Sands has been installed in front of and Wahby Park as as part of the Detroit Institute of Arts Inside|Out program, which places art reproductions throughout Metro Detroit.
"(John) Brett's painstakingly realistic landscapes always depict actual locations," states a plaque displayed next to the artwork of Bude Beach, in the southwest of England. "Brett's treatment of a desert-like setting associated with the introduction of Christianity to England calls to mind the abodes of early Christian hermits in the deserts of the Holy Land."
