Committee Announces Theme for 2014 Memorial Day Parade

The theme for the 62nd St. Clair Shores Memorial Day Parade has been released.

The St. Clair Shores Memorial Day Parade Committee released Tuesday the theme for the 2014 Memorial Day Parade: "HONOR. FREEDOM. FAMILY"

According to a release, the "theme represents the HONOR we give to the Veterans and military personnel who have fought to protect our FREEDOM and to the FAMILY they leave behind while doing so and for those families that have made the ultimate sacrifice."

The 62nd Memorial Day Parade will continue to "pay tribute to the military personnel and honor them with the Parade, we felt it important that the families be recognized for their contribution as well," the release added.

The Parade will step off at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Little Mack and
Harper and proceed north to 11 Mile.

Applications for parade entries will be available in October on the committee's website www.scsmdp.com. Volunteers are needed for Parade day and various events throughout the year. To volunteer, email scsparade14@gmail.com and write "Volunteer" in the subject line.
