Blue Angels to Soar in Selfridge Air Show

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will headline the Selfridge Air Show and open house when the event returns to Harrison Township Air National Guard Base in Sept. 2014.

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels flight demonstration team will headline the air show at Selfridge Air National Guard Base when it returns to the facility in 2014.

The air show at the Harrison Township base will be held Sept. 6 and 7, according to the show's Facebook page.

The air show and open house, which is usually held every two-years at the Harrison Township base, was not be offered in 2013 because of operational mission requirements, 127th Wing officials said.

The 2014 show, which will feature other flying performances and static displays, will be the first time the Blue Angles have performed at Selfridge in five years.
