Aqua Freeze Festival Bring Cool Events to Nautical Mile

Ice carving, live music and family events are among the events planned for the inaugural St. Clair Shores Aqua Freeze Festival.

The Nautical Mile is hive of activity during the summer with boating activities, runners and bicyclists, shoppers and diners.

But when the seasons change, and the snow begins to fall, the fast pace slows down - expect this year.

Members of the community have come together to plan the three-day SCS Aqua Freeze Festival in February with music, a beer tent, ice carving, family events and a polar plunge into lake St. Clair.

"We were looking to add events in the community in the winter," said Geri Hoffman, who has worked with Linda Bologna to organize the event.

While the festival will be centrally located at Blossom Heath park, events are planned along Jefferson and the Nautical Mile during the festival.

The schedule includes:

Events run from 5 - 9 p.m.
A torch run from City Hall to Blossom Heath will kickoff the event.
