5 Things to Know This Week in St. Clair Shores

From a meeting of St. Clair Shores City Council, to the Shorian Taste Fest, there will be a number events this week in the city.

Municipal business, a student play and an ice show are just some of the events to look forward to this week in St. Clair Shores.

1. St. Clair Shores City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in City Hall. Among the items on the agenda is a request from the Michigan Department of Transportation for a noise variance for evening and weekend work on I-94 between 11 and 12 Mile roads.

2. The Pro Football Hall of Fame will come to Lake Shore High School to honor George Allen, a former NFL coach and St. Clair Shores-native who is a member of the Hall of Fame.

3. The St Clair Shores Figure Skating Club will present the Reflections on Ice Show Friday - Sunday at Civic Arena. The show, which is an adaptation of "Mary Poppins," takes to the ice at 7:30 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. Prices are $7 in advance, $8 at the door, for children and seniors,  $9 in advance and $10 at the door for adults. Advance tickets are available at Civic Arena. 

4. South Lake High School will present a community performance of "Beauty and the Beast" at 7 p.m. March 22 and March 23. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $7 for students.

5. The St. Clair Shores community will gather March 24 at Barrister Gardens for the annual Shorian Taste Fest fundraiser for the Lake Shore Quarterback Club. Advance tickets are $15, and are available through the high school athletic Office. Tickets at the door are $20. Children under 7-years-old are $5.
