It's time for the sixth annual Sailing Thru the Shores 5K Run/Walk. The event raises scholarship money to be awarded to three student-athlete volunteers from St. Clair Shores.
Registration begins at 11 a.m. at the Masonic Temple one block east of Harper, on 11 Mile Road, and the race begins at noon for runners, and 12:05 p.m. for walkers, at 11 Mile and Jefferson.
Cost to register is $25 per person. The Memorial Day parade follows the race.

Jefferson Lodge No. 553 is home to the Freemasons. The Masons are a fraternity dedicated to friendship, morality, brotherly love and strives to give back to the local community. This lodge has been chartered since 1929 and meets the first Thursday of the month at 7:30pm.
