On Thursday, February 7, St. Joan of Arc will hold its annual Kindergarten Round Up. Call the St. Joan of Arc School office at 586-775-8370 to reserve space in either the 8:30 a.m. or 6:30 p.m. session. Designed for parents, these meetings provide detailed information about the half- and full-day Kindergarten programs and a special opportunity to enroll youngsters for the 2013-2014 school year.
SJA’s Kindergarten program includes instruction in reading, math, science, religion and social studies, as well as computers, art, music library and physical education. Please note, the State of Michigan passed a law in July, 2012, changing the age at which children enter kindergarten. The ruling for children wishing to begin Kindergarten for fall 2013 stipulates that they must be 5 years old by November 1, 2013.
Students in SJA’s Kindergarten program thrive in small sized classes, and parental involvement is welcomed. The youngsters have special vocal music performances throughout the year, community field trips, a Mother’s Day Tea and a year-end celebration. St. Joan’s Kindergarten students wear uniforms and have Big Buddies that help them periodically throughout the school year on special projects.
