Jefferson Yacht Club to Hold Blessing of the Fleet

The Jefferson Yacht Club will host the annual Blessing of the Fleet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Beach Grill.
This annual ceremony kicks off the boating season in St. Clair Shores.
The blessing of "friendship and safety" is open to Jefferson Yacht Club members, non-members, boaters and non-boaters.
The ceremony takes place in the harbor of Beach Grill where boaters can drive their boats and dock - and non-boaters can drive - for the program which features a flag raising ceremony, bagpipers, songs, inspirational speeches and non-denominational blessings for a safe 2012 boating season.
Boaters will depart following the ceremony for the lake and participate in the wreath ceremony.
The event also recently received a proclamation from City Council that recognized the Jefferson Yacht Club for their sponsorship of the event and thanked "the many boaters who attend the event for their continuing patronage of St. Clair Shores recreational facilities and businesses."

The Beach Grill, located inside the Jefferson Beach Marina, boasts a large indoor dining room with a great view, a waterfront deck with a full Tiki bar, a banquet room, a dance floor and a 30-inch video wall for sporting events. Its menu includes everything from soups and salads to pizza, pasta and seafood. The Beach Grill also offers newly lowered prices, smaller lunch servings and daily drink specials. The Beach Grill accepts reservations at any time and is available for private events.

After the ceremony at the Beach Grill the Jefferson Yacht Club welcomes everyone, members and non-members alike to join us after 2:00 for entertainment, a BBQ, cash bar. Check us out-JYC is the place to be.
