Arts Academy in the Woods
to hold Winter Dance Concert
Arts Academy in the Woods, a charter high school based in Fraser, is holding its Winter Dance Concert on Friday, December 14, at 7 p.m. at the South Lake High School auditorium in St. Clair Shores.
More than 150 students from the school will be performing ballet, modern jazz, tap and contemporary dances at the concert.
The concert is open to the public. Tickets are $10 per person and are available at door. South Lake is located at 21900 East Nine Mile Road. For more information regarding tickets, please call 586-294-0391.
“The concert is the culmination of several months of intense concentration and focus by our students and teachers,” said Maxwell Spayde, the school’s principal. “They are looking forward to expressing themselves on stage. It will be a very enjoyable and entertaining evening.”
Arts Academy in the Woods is chartered by the Macomb Intermediate School District. It offers students the opportunity to major in the fine and performing arts while completing the Michigan Merit Curriculum.

More About South Lake High School
South Lake High School offers a variety of traditional and elective classes for students in ninth through 12th grades. Students entering ninth grade have a dean of students who helps with the transition into high school. As students continue their education, there are a number of programs to help them grow as students and citizens, including after-school activities. Carmen Kennedy is South Lake's principal, and Michael Fringer is the school's assistant principal.
