St Isaac Jogues Junior Varsity Football Team Clinches Class D Division Championship Title

St Isaac Jogues Junior Varsity Football Team clinched the CYO Class D Division Championship Title with their 28-0 victory over The Saints of Ann Arbor Saturday.

“The team is doing remarkable well this season; the backs work great as a team. If they are not running the ball they are block.” Steve Graham said in an interview after the game. He gave praises to the offensive and defensive lines. “The Saints coaches were really impressed with how disciplined our lineman were on both sides of the ball.”

Quarterback Emilio Esparza, number 10, rallied the team to their fourth victory of the season, bringing their record to 4-0.

Number 22, Kamren Johnson, led the team in touchdowns with three. His
longest was from midfield, a 53-yard scoring run.

Evan Rochon, Number 24, scored the team's other touchdown, a 34-yard stroll to the end zone. He also had one interception on the day.

Defensively Klayton Cornell, number 91, was all over the field. Klayton led the team in tackles and recovered a fumble.

Number 53, Dominic Tiseo, also had an outstanding defensive day with a number of tackles, one interception and a fumble recovery.

Honorable mention, number 28, Jacob Caruso played a great game selfishly clearing the way for his fellow running backs.

Next week the Chargers JV go into their bye-week and will be gearing up for their
Crossover game that will be played at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Lakeview High School. All are welcome, so come out to cheer them to victory.

Don’t forget that the Chargers Freshman and Varsity Football Teams both have games on Sunday, Sept. 23, at home. The Freshman host Redford Catholic
game time 4 p.m., and the Varsity is set to kickoff at 6:30 p.m. welcoming the University of Detroit Jesuit Academy.

Now if someone would teach the other St Issac's athletes some sportsmanship. I can tell you that they have some of the least respectful kids of the surrounding CYO schools when it comes to CYO sports.

Does the term of use prohibit expressing an opinion about circumstances I have witnessed directly?

Yes, congratulations to the JV team. Well done.

However, i have witnessed first hand St Issac's players (and parents) demonstrating sportsmanship which leaves much to be desired.

Thanks for the clarification and commenting. We just encourage folks use their real name and we also wanted to make sure this doesn't degenerate into an online argument.

In no way did I intend for this to be an online argument as their is no point and no reasonable outcome that would result.

This is just a free exchange of ideas and observations. I am open to opposing comments and would welcome them.

Luis - aren't you the guy that coached baseball for SCS but was forced to quit after getting into a fight with one of the parents?

LOL, Really? Wow, nice comment Homer. I was NEVER forced to quit, my 2009 baseball pinto team crushed every team and went on to go 14-0. Can't help it if everyone was jealous of our team. We were GREAT! I can tell by your post and name you can't hold a civilized conversation. You are one of those type of parents. Go Chargers! Go Emilio!!

Yes it was definitely you that fought a parent over a baseball game. Pretty sad that a parent has to live through his child. I hope your son doesn't grow up to have the same behavior issues you have.

I am sure no one one "jealous" of a kids baseball team. Some coach you were....if you felt the need to "crush" other teams full of 8 year old kids then you seriously have some inferiority issues.

And you just keep going and going. Best of luck in your life Homer, you really do need it. This article was about the Chargers J.V. Football team and all you did was turn this into an article about you and how you. Sorry if your child or your child's team is not having a good year, no need to take it out on this thread.

I always teach my players to play at 100%, never give up until the game is over. Win with class, play with class and respect others. It is the opposing parents who can't stand the site of another great team. Welcome to modern day society. You sir are one of the major problems and your comments reflect it. Best wishes and you should consider getting a real name and stop hiding behind a screen name.

You teach your team to play with class, yet you get into a fight with a parent of the kids you are supposedly teaching. So by your logic, if a parent "can't stand the site of another great team", you beat them up. Good life lesson you are teaching there.

So by your earlier admission you "crushed" every team, yet now you claim to play and win with class. You need to get your facts straight...and stop avoiding the issue of how you were told to leave because you fought a parent.
