Hundreds of supporters of Wigs 4 Kids filled Barrister Gardens Friday for the charity's annual fundraiser gala.

The event is one of the largest fundraisers of the year for the St. Clair Shores-based charity. Wigs 4 Kids provides wigs and support services to Michigan children between 3- and 18-years-old experiencing hair loss from cancer treatment, alopecia, trichotillomania and other disorders.

In addition to raising funds, the gala allows supporters, members of the community and Ambassadors an opportunity to enjoy an evening out with entertainment, dancing, sweets and unique raffles.

"This heartwarming event is a celebration of our Ambassadors who have received wigs through the program and courageously face their health challenges," Maggie Varney, Wigs 4 Kids Founder and CEO, in a release. "It is our privilege to honor them at this event."
