What Do You Think? Should Grosse Pointe Shores Join Macomb County?
Grosse Pointe Shores voters will go to the polls in August to decide an advisory issue on whether the city should leave Wayne County and move to Macomb County. Would St. Clair Shores residents welcome the move?
The Grosse Pointe Shores council voted unanimously Tuesday to put an advisory ballot issue on the August primary to determine whether the majority of residents want to leave Wayne County and move to Macomb County.
But even if voters approve the idea this summer, there still would be a long way to go.
Wayne County voters would have to allow Grosse Pointe Shores to leave, and residents in Macomb County would have to OK the city’s move into the county.
So we’re asking you, residents of St. Clair Shores: Do you think Grosse Pointe Shores should leave Wayne County and join Macomb County?

Don't have too much of a problem with it, but let me ask, does the park that we originally sold them, down off the bend over there off Jefferson, also come with it??? And, if so, what will the cost be to us?

Remember that this has to be approved by Wayne county voters, too. I don't see that happening because of the tax revenue that Wayne county would lose.
