Vote on the Best Place for Pizza in Macomb County and Grosse Pointe

Buddy's, Paisano's Restaurant and Father & Son Pizzeria all are in the running in the Food Fight poll.

When Patch asked for readers’ opinions on the best place for pizza in Macomb County and Grosse Pointe, 41 people gave their choices.

We listened, and you have told us your top three choices: Buddy’s, Paisano’s Restaurant, and Father & Son Pizzeria.

  • Buddy’s is an institution in the Detroit area with several restaurants in the area, including one in Grosse Pointe Woods and another in Warren. “We are spoiled by what great pizza is available around here,” Patch user Russell D Salyers wrote. Go to any other state and they have no idea what a good pizza tastes like. Buddy's is still #1. Buddy's needs to have a north Macomb location.”
  • Paisano’s is located on 30019 Harper Ave. in St. Clair Shores. Linda Koehler Ward said Paisano’s “is the best pizza I have had since I was in Italy!”
  • Father & Son Pizzeria is located on 50770 Gratiot Ave. in Chesterfield Township. Brian Vosburg has “been eating that since I was a kid. Still as great today as it was back then. I'd put that into the "American" style pizza genre.”

Now we’re asking for a little more help to finish off this Food Fight.

We would like you to vote on one of those three pizza places in our poll.

If you would like, please leave a comment on why you voted, or share your choice on Facebook and Twitter.

You have until Friday at 5 p.m. to vote, and we’ll announce the winner of the Food Fight on Saturday morning.

Thanks again, and happy eating.

Since this is the Grosse Pointe Patch, might I suggest you separate the votes for Grosse Pointe establishments and let us vote for those separately? Some of us aren't inclined to drive 20 miles for pizza.

Thanks for the feedback Chris. This poll is also running on St. Clair Shores Patch, New Baltimore-Chesterfield Patch, Macomb Patch and Shelby-Utica Patch. Just out of curiosity, what are your favorite pizza places in Grosse Pointe?

Bambu on the HIll. Best pizza in town. Try their mushroom pizza and taste for yourself.

Sorry I missed the original poll. All of the pizzas above are good but Dan Good Pizza is THE best pizza EVER!

I can't believe nobody brought up Bommarito's! Best pizza in around.

Just heard someone comment yesterday that Bommarito's has the absolute best "New York" style pizza. Will have to try it. I love Mama Rosas and Nona's (on the 94 service drive near Allard).

Don't forget Mama Rosa's in the Park. Great pizza and nice people.

As someone who grew up on New York pizza from Queens, I have to say Uncle Paul's is my favorite. They have also been very generous to Monteith Elementary! As for your poll, I have only tried Buddy's, but will happily try the other two.

Passport pizza is the best. Unfortunately the closest location is 10 and Gratiot. They have the best gluten free pizza, by far!

Bommarito's Bakery offers 3 large 1 toppings for $12, or 2 for $9, you can't beat that price if you have a large family. They taste great too.

Dan Good's Pizza is numero uno by far! They feature both deep dish and traditional pies. I now live in Harrison Township and Friday night is pizza night. I exclusively frequent the 15 1/2 & Harper location but i believe there is now one at 9 & Mack (586.775.4440). I used to drive all the way to Louie's (10 & Dequindre) and while theirs is great, Dan Good's is greaterer (new word...). And Dan Good's has a Traverse City salad chock full of sun-dried cherries & walnuts w/ a cherry vinaigrette dressing (delish!).

Coming from Chicago, pizza is hard for me to like here, but for true "Italian-style" pizza....Dinoto's Gambino is great!
