This weekend the last Blockbuster store in St. Clair Shores closed.

The store was one of nearly 500 nationwide which were closed in recent months by Blockbuster's parent company Dish Network. The closure leaves a store vacancy in the shopping center located between Harper and Little Mack.

At a recent council meeting, Mayor Kip Walby stated that the city is in discussions with a possible tenant for the property. The name of the potential tenant was not released.

Share your idea below about what type of business you would like to see in this vacant property.

How about an endoscopy suite? We have been taking it from the city, state and feds for so long that we could use some caring professional that at least give you the feel good juice before sticking it to you.

When are you moving, Owen?

Other than a quilt shop or yarn store, SCS has everything else that I'd want. That's why I live here. I only know of things I DON'T want to see: Another payday advance type of place, yet another medical suite or dollar store.

It's a wonderful location, seemingly with parking. Wouldn't it be nice to have a small movie theater there for us? Not one of the popular behemoths, but maybe one very similar to the beloved Shores Madrid!

A Trader Joes or a movie theater would be great. Please not another gas station, bank or drug store.

I would not want to see a Golden Corral there, but Trader Joes would be awesome.
