Viewfinder: Citizens Bank Celebrates Birthday

The St. Clair Shores branch held a local event to recognize the 140th birthday of Citizens Bank.

Mayor Hison and branch manager Diana Martin cut the ceremonial ribbon as Roger Rowland and Grace Shore look on.

Citizens Bank in St. Clair Shores held a birthday party Monday for business and government leaders along with customers.

Citizens Bank, founded 140 years ago in Flint, currently has 218 branch offices in Michigan, Wisconsin and Ohio, including the St. Clair Shores location.

Mayor Robert Hison joined representatives from the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce and Citizens Bank officials for a ribbon cutting and celebration.

Employees of the Shores branch have been involved in a number of local volunteer groups and community events including June Fest, the Nine-Mack Merchants Association and the chamber of commerce, along with providing financial education classes at the Hope Center.
