Suspect in St. Clair Shores Armed Robbery to be Arraigned

A man who police allege attempted an armed robbery will likely be arraigned Wednesday in 40th District Court.

A man who is alleged to have attempted an armed robbery and then led police on a manhunt and search for his weapon likely will be arraigned Wednesday in 40th District Court.

The suspect, a white male in his 20s, is alleged to have attempted to rob two employees of a business near Harper and Alexander with a shotgun shortly after midnight Tuesday morning.

Neither victim was injured in the attempted robbery, and the suspect fled the area, according to Sgt. David Centala.

Patrol officers and K-9 units searched the area for the suspect. Officers Timothy Pickens and Jessica Drulia spotted the man in the area of 10 Mile Road and Interstate 94.

After a foot chase, the suspect was found and arrested in the area.

"It was good police work by the officers," Centala said.

Officers then worked through the night and into the morning to locate the shotgun. It was discovered in the gutter of a home several blocks from the incident.

Police did not release further details of the suspect.
