State Representative-Elect Sarah Roberts, D-St. Clair Shores, took the oath of office Friday in Lansing.

State Representative-elect Sarah Roberts took the oath of office Friday in Lansing.

Roberts will represent the new Michigan House District 18 which includes St. Clair Shores and Eastpointe.

Roberts, a Democrat, received 65 percent of the vote in the Michigan House District 18 race in the November general election against Candice Rusie, a Republican, who is currently a member of the St. Clair Shores City Council. Roberts served in the Michigan House from 2008-2010.

Current State Rep. Anthony Forlini, R-Harrison Township, represents a new district which includes Harrison and Clinton townships.
