A 22-year-old St. Clair Shores resident was struck and killed early Sunday morning in Kalamazoo, according to Kalamazoo Police.

Police were called about 12:42 a.m. Sunday for a report of a person struck by a vehicle at the intersection of W. Michigan Ave and Emajean Street. Officers located Breeana Kay Dixit in the roadway. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to a report on MLive, Dixit graduated in December with a bachelor's degree in psychology from Western Michigan University.

Police report the investigation is ongoing. Kaul Funeral Home is reportedly handling the services for Dixit.
