The South Lake High School band was the only band from St. Clair Shores to compete Saturday in the Michigan Competing Band Association State Championship Contest at Ford Field.
The band participated in Flight IV and scored 22.4 points higher than their first show of the season and one place up from state competition last year, according to Shelly Voss Kury who posted information and a photo on the Patch Facebook page.
