Airmen and aircraft from the 171st Air Refueling Squadron at Selfridge Air National Guard Base are currently serving a two-week rotation in Germany at NATO Air Base Geilenkirchen.
The personnel from Selfridge are supporting of the NATO AWACS (Airborne Early Warning and Control) component, according Air National Guard Tech. Sgt. Dan Heaton, Selfridge spokesman.
Aircraft from Selfridge are providing refueling support for the AWAC aircraft, the E-3A, which is primarily an Air National Guard mission, with various Guard units from around the country taking a rotation, Heaton added.
