School Briefs: Lake Shore Finances Strong, Fundraisers Planned for Lakeview, South Lake

Lake Shore Public Schools receive high marks in recent audit. South Lake and Lakeview high schools also are planning fundraisers.

 

Lake Shore finances strong

Auditors from Plante Moran recently presented the financial audit for Lake Shore Public Schools. Ken Leslie and Chris Geck, from Plante Moran, stated that the district received a clean and unqualified audit, which is the highest form of assurance that auditors can give in accordance with state and federal guidelines, they said. "The district is very healthy considering the difficult economy," Leslie said.

Lakeview fundraiser

The senior class at Lakeview High School will be holding a fundraiser from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, at bd's Mongolian Grill in Roseville. Tickets are $12 for kids, and $20 for adults, and include unlimited stir fry, soft drink, tax and tip. Proceeds go to the senior class, and the event will feature teachers as guest grillers. South Lake Drama Club dinner

The South Lake Drama Club will be holding their annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 4 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, in the high school cafeteria. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and children. Tickets are available in the main office of the school. The student-led fundraiser is being held to offset the cost of obtaining the rights of the spring play and other production costs.
