Kid Rock Will Introduce Paul Ryan at OU
When the VP hopeful speaks in Rochester on Monday night, a hometown rocker will welcome him.
Kid Rock will introduce vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan to an Oakland University crowd on Monday night.
The event, billed as a Republican "Victory Rally," is open to the public; tickets are free and can be ordered online now or picked up at area campaign offices starting Monday. The rally starts at 7 p.m. at the Athletics Center O'rena, the site of a GOP presidential debate last fall.
For more about the rally, read Romney, Ryan Supporters Get Ready for Rally at OU Tonight.
According to a Romney/Ryan press release, "The Romney/Ryan Presidential campaign is proud to announce that award-winning, platinum-selling rocker Kid Rock will appear and introduce Congressman Ryan at an upcoming rally near Detroit, Michigan." In February, Kid Rock appeared with Mitt Romney at a campaign event at the Royal Oak Music Theatre.
At that event, Romney told the crowd Kid Rock asked him, “If you’re elected president will you help me help the city of Detroit?” Romney said he assured him he would.
An August story in The Washington Times explores Romney's "courting" of the Clarkston rocker and touches on the similarities between the two that make Kid Rock's endorsement of Romney seem natural.

That's so weird kid rock introducing a man who is against insurance companies covering birth control and anti pro choice. I would think kid rock is the poster child for birth control according to his songs. Hmmm?

Did anyone get a pic of Big Bird at the Ryan protest? We thought it was just a Ryan rally, but as we drove by, realized it wasn't when we saw the opposition signs and someone with the really good Big Bird costume.
