St. Clair Shores is home to royalty.

Miss St. Clair Shores Angela Venditti was crowned Miss Michigan Saturday at the competition held in Frauenthal Center for the Performing Arts in Muskegon.

Venditti is the first Miss St. Clair Shores to be crowned Miss Michigan since Sherry Agnello Colby in 1973.

Her platform as Miss St. Clair Shores is "Above the Influence: Keeping Kids Drug Free." She also showcased her talent - tap dance - at the pageant.

She will now represent the state in Las Vegas at the Miss America Pageant in January.

St. Clair Shores was also well represented with residents Shelby Gardiner, Miss Wayne County, named first runner-up, and Sarah Suydam, Miss Spirit of the State, named third runner up.
