As Little Miss St. Clair Shores, Jenna Dell doesn't have an official platform, but her recent hair donation to Wigs 4 Kids demonstrated her commitment to helping others.

Dell, 10, recently decided to donate 10 inches of her long, blond hair to St. Clair Shores-based Wigs 4 Kids.

Her donation will be used to create a wig for a child from Michigan who lost their hair as a result of illness and treatment.

"It feels so wierd. It feels good at the same time," said Dell, after her hair was cut. "It's so short and I like it."

Peggy Dell, the proud mother of Little Miss St. Clair Shores, said her daughter first learned of Wigs 4 Kids during the Kiwanis Fun Fest.

While on her official duty representing the Miss St. Clair Shores Pageant, she met representatives of Wigs 4 Kids and decided to donate her hair to the charity which provides wigs and support services to any child or teen between the ages of 3 through 18 at no cost to them or their families.

Maggie Varney, founder & CEO of Wigs 4 Kids, said the donation by Dell -who is someone who is in the public eye and looked up to by her peers - will help make people more aware of the charity and its services.
