Light the Shores Business Winners Announced

Businesses throughout St. Clair Shores have been decked out in with blinking lights, music and other holiday items in hopes of being named one of the top displays in the Light the Shores campaign. Winners were announced Monday.

 

The Harper Ave. Corridor Improvement Authority expanded the annual holiday lighting competition this year to include the entire city, and partnered with St. Clair Shores Patch to host the voting for the top displays in St. Clair Shores.

After four weeks of voting on displays that ranged from simple bows on business awnings to intricate light and music productions, the winners were revealed at Monday's City Council meeting.

The winners and runners-up in each category were recognized at the meeting and received plaques created by Woods Trophies:

Best Exterior Holiday Decoration

Best Holiday Window Display

Most Extreme Holiday Decoration – “The Griswold Christmas Vacation Award”

Favorite Holiday Shopping Tradition in St. Clair Shores

Some of the participating businesses also donated items for those who voted.

The winners of a Gilbert's Hardware sweatshirt are:

The grand prize winner of a limited edition, hand-painted Ne’Qwa glass ornament titled “Children at Play,” featuring a reprint by famous Russian artist G. DeBrekht, from Viviano Flower Shop is:

  • Bonnie Cole Garofalo

Winners will be notified by email, and can pick up their prizes at the store.
