The Lake Shore High School Class of 2012 made history Saturday as the first class to have commencement ceremonies in the new high school gym.

School administrators moved the program indoors from the athletic field due to the threat of rain early in the day.

The change of venue didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the 234 graduates, or their families, who celebrated their achievements and heard words of inspiration from superintendent Christopher Loria, "You can make a difference," and class president David Conklin, "The world is just begining for us."
