Members of the Lac Ste Claire Kiwanis of St. Clair Shores have been involved in a number of community service programs throughout the community, and now they are inspiring the next generation of leaders.

The club recently chartered the new Kiwanis K-Kids Club at Steenland Elementary School. The are 23-member club recently elected, and swore in, the five-member executive board by their adult mentors.

The Lac Ste. Claire Kiwanis will help the students work together on service projects, develop leadership potential and create strong moral character for all of the children involved in the club, according to Richard Swanquist, Kiwanis president.
