Hackel Appoints Former Shores Resident to Ethics Board

County Executive Mark Hackel has appointed former resident Anthony Bellanca to the five-member board.

County Executive Mark Hackel has appointed former St. Clair Shores resident Anthony Bellanca to serve on the five-member Macomb County Board of Ethics.

Bellanca, an attorney who served on the St. Clair Shores Planning commission and is a past president of the Macomb Bar Association, now lives in Chesterfield Township.

As a member of the board, Bellanca and the other appointees will set the "standards of conduct for all county officials and employees to abide by" according to a release.

“Macomb County citizens will receive outstanding ethical leadership from their officials,” Hackel said in a release. “The individuals I have chosen will be strong ethics stewards protecting the interests of the county.”

  • Dr. Donald J. Amboyer, of Shelby Township, an adjunct professor for Wayne State University and consultant for higher education and criminal justice topics.
  • Gregory George Bauer Sr., of Macomb Township, a die designer for Chrysler Corp. and a member of the International Staff of the UAW.
  • The Rev. John Mack, of New Haven, a counselor for New Haven Community Schools and member of the Macomb Community Action Advisory Board.
  • Karen Smith, of Shelby Township, executive director of Leadership Macomb, Inc.
