Furloughs, Reduced Aircraft Flights at Selfridge Possible Effects of Sequester

If Congress and the president fail to halt $85 billion in "sequestration" spending cuts by Friday, personnel at Selfridge Air National Guard Base may face furloughs and there my be reduced flights at the Macomb County military facility.
Officials at Selfridge released the possible impacts of the sequestration, which include:
- Approximately 650 personnel from the 127th Wing will be given 22 days of furlough, which will be implemented one day per week from late April to Sept. 30. This will result in a total loss of pay will be approximately $6 million.
- Approximately 500 personnel from other agencies on the base will be impacted by furlough over the same time period. An estimated total pay loss is not available.
- The number of flying hours by the 127th Wing's A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft and KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft will be significantly curtailed. This reduction will begin to impact mission readiness levels by the beginning of April.

They will have to tighten their budgets just like the private sector has had to do for the last fifteen years. There is so much waste in the government, that the 85 billion is just a drop in the bucket!

Has anyone seen the stories of our CIC calling FIVE nuclear powered aircraft carriers to Norfolk, AT THE SAME TIME? This man is not our leader. This man is looking to destroy this nation. People better wake up and fast, or this experiment is over.
Oh, and how about ordering ICE to release dangerous criminals onto OUR streets because "we MAY not be able to afford to keep them".
If you can't see what's going on here, there is no hope for you.

Also keep in mind that this 85 billion is a reduction in the annual base line INCREASE written in the Federal budget. Our government will still spend MORE than they spent last year!! That should tell everyone right there that there is considerable waist in what the taxpayers and the "bank of China" funds every year. They should make the President determine what programs will be cut instead of his scare tactics. All we've heard is "may this" and "might affect that" It was Obama's idea in the first place, so make it his responsibility to choose who "feels the pain" and quit blaming everybody else for his failed leadership. Are you listening main stream media?! (I hear crickets). Or here's a novel idea, PRODUCE A BUDGET and work towards balancing it. (more crickets).

The majority of the country was against the billions of taxpayer dollars given to Chrysler and GM. Chrysler has petitioned for forgivenes for their outstanding loan and GM still owes taxpayer money. During this time millions of dollars in bonus money has been given to the executives and thousands of dollars to the employees. Same story with the banks. Yet federal government employees will be allowed to lose their jobs.

Now that the sequestration deadline has passed, if nothing else changes, I'll be hit with a mandatory one day off work with no pay per week for 22 weeks starting sometime in April. Meanwhile, federal legislators in both chambers of Congress continue to receive at least an annual salary of $174,000.00 with no interruption in their paychecks.
Article I, Section 9, of the U.S. Constitution requires that Congress pass a federal budget. Yet the U.S. Congress hasn't passed a federal budget since April 29, 2009; instead, they've opted for a Continuing Resolution year after year since then to avert a US Government shutdown.
Since April 29, 2009, which the was the last time the U.S. Congress passed a federal budget, the average U.S. Congressman, senators as well as representatives, has earned roughly $522,000.00 in annual minimum salaries. Yes, that's a half-million dollars. As a DoD Civilian, I haven't done one damned thing to earn a 20% furlough-induced pay cut. And I can assure you that I have not received a half-million dollars in pay since April 29, 2009. Yet the six-figure-a-year masterminds of the federal budget universe can go to bed each night safe in the knowledge that their pay will not be negatively impacted at all.
Can you sense my anger?
