In Photos: Freshmen Prepare for First Day of High School
Incoming freshmen received an introduction to high school recently during orientation events at Lake Shore, Lakeview and South Lake.
Incoming freshmen got a preview of their new schools at Lake Shore, Lakeview and South Lake high schools, recently during a series of orientations held before the first bell rings this week.
Students received tours of the school, met with teachers and completed their class lists.
In addition to these orientations, South Lake held a voluntary, week-long Cavalier Summer Enrichment Camp attended by 120 freshmen.
Students who attended received a quarter credit and interacted with their classmates and teachers before school started, according to Michael Fringer, South Lake High School assistant principal.
"We want kids to be here and acclimated with the school," Fringer said. "It is a warm and fuzzy introduction to the school."
