Photo Gallery: 'Fairy Tales' at Ford House
Organizers say more than 2000 attended the second annual event on the grounds of the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores.
Visitors to the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House were treated to a magical fairy tale land with princesses, fairy tale characters and theatrical presentations Saturday during, "Fairy Tales: A Grimm Celebration."
The event, now in its second year, raises funds for the educational programs at the Ford House, Public Relations Director Anne Fitzpatrick said.
According to Fitzpatrick, this year's event had an improved layout and more emphasis on hands-on activities like the craft project tables, straw mountain and mock sword play area.
"There's a lot more for kids to do," Fitzpatrick said.
Pony rides and a petting zoo were popular additions to this year's celebration too.
Performance art still abounded with story telling, dancing and singing on multiple stages through out the ethereal grounds where childhood stories were brought to life with live actors in fabulous costumes.
Fitzpatrick said more than 2000 tickets were sold this year and organizers are already considering themes for next year's production.
