Find Your Christmas Tree in the Shores

No need to travel, or visit a big box store, to find the perfect Christmas tree this year. Businesses throughout the Shores have set up locations through out the city with a variety of trees.

Here is a sampling of locations in the Shores to buy a real tree for Christmas.

1.) Greenhouse Growers, 21807 Greater Mack, has been selling real trees from northern Michigan more than 10 years. Trees on the lot include Scotch pine, Douglas fir, Black Hills spruce, blue spruce, Balsam fir, Fraser fir and white pine.

2.) Gabriel's Tree Lot has been a staple in St. Clair Shores for nearly 20 at the corner of Harper and Gordon streets and has a large selection of Michigan grown trees. Buyers can choose from trees including Scotch pine, Fraser fir, Douglas fir, Balsam fir, white pine, Concolor fir and two types of spruces.

3.) Solitro's Tree Lot at Harper and Timberridge started selling trees in the Shores over 40 years ago. Fraser firs, white pines, Concolor firs, blue spruces, Blackhill spruces, Douglas firs and Scotch pines are among the trees on the lot.

4.) Soulliere's Garden Center, 23919 Little Mack, transforms their back garden area into a Christmas tree lot for the holidays with Fraser firs, Douglas firs, Scotch pines, Blue spruces and Concolor firs from northern Michigan.

5.) Hall's Nursery, 24300 Harper, offers Christmas trees and wreaths. Choose from a variety of trees including Douglas firs, Fraser firs, Cork Bark firs, Alpine firs, Concolor firs, Scotch pines, White pines, Black Hills spruces, White spruces and Colorado spruces.

Prices for real trees vary from location, but on average they run anywhere from $4 to $9 a foot, or $20 to $70 per tree.

I have been buying a live Christmas tree from Solitro's for years. I think they have the best Douglas Fir. Every year my husband would say "we have the perfect tree this year" & they all came from Solitro.

I have to repeat myself, because I bought the "perfect" tree from you again last year. I'll be seeing you this weekend to again buy my "Perfect" tree.
