Enjoy the 2012 Olympics St. Clair Shores Style - Senior Olympian

During the XXX Olympiad, Patch will offer suggestions on how to celebrate the Olympics in London in the city, and locations St. Clair Shores residents can try their best to match the performances of Olympians

Have Olympic fever and can't make it to London for the games?

There are a number of locations throughout the St. Clair Shores where residents and visitors can enjoy a taste of the games, workout like Olympians or find gear to prepare for the 2016 games.

In St. Clair Shores there is a local version of Michael Phelps who rules the Olympics, but it is the Senior Olympics. Gene Meyer, and partner Joe Gentilia, have ruled the bocce ball courts during the summer, and winter, Senior Olympics. Meyer said he has won the first-place blue ribbon since 2006 during the summer Olympics, and the last four years during the winter Olympics.

"It's practice and finesse," Meyer, 81, said recently at the St. Clair Shores Senior Activities Center while discussing his success on the courts.

Check back during the remainder of the Olympiad to see where the Olympic flag is flown next in St. Clair Shores.
