Update: Ellen DeGeneres to Help Feed Homeless Pets in St. Clair Shores

The TV talk show host joined with Freekibble.com to donate food to homeless pets. The Kibble Drop trucks will arrive at the Pet Supplies Plus store on Mack Avenue in St. Clair Shores at noon Thursday.

 

Ellen DeGeneres has teamed with a national charity to help feed homeless pets and the initiative is expected to visit St. Clair Shores today.

Trucks from Freekibble.com are expected to deliver donated food to Pet Supplies Plus store on Mack at noon today. The food will be delivered to pets in need in the area. 

A spokeswoman for the effort said DeGeneres will not be be attending today's event as previously reported by Patch and the Detroit Free Press.

DeGeneres and Mimi Ausland, who founded Freekibble.com, are taking part in their second Holiday Kibble Drop to deliver meals to pets in needs.

The St. Clair Shores stop is one of 14 across the country. The Holiday Kibble Drop hopes to pass out 500,000 meals across the country.

She wasnt there.She wasnt suppose to be there. Patch and the Detroit Free Press read the announcement wrong. Ellen is a huge supporter of the charity and was donating the dog food. But it wasnt planned that she herself was going to be there. The big semi truck was there, and the dog food was donated. But there were a lot of dissapointed people who showed up.
