Classic Car Lovers Raise Funds for Veterans
Classic cars filled the front of the VFW Bruce Post #1146 Sunday morning, and diners enjoyed a constant stream of pancakes, during the annual Hot Rods & Hot Cakes fundraiser for homeless war veterans.
The Shorewood Kiwanis Club of Michigan and the VFW Bruce Post 1146 host Hot Rods & Hot Cakes from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Sunday.
The event featured an all-you-can eat pancake breakfast and classic car show, located at the VFW Bruce Post 1146 to benefit homeless war veterans in Michigan.
By 9 a.m., more than 75 classic cars filled the lot of the VFW which had already exceeded the total at the event the previous year.
The proceeds from this event will benefit the Southeastern Michigan Veteran’s Stand Down, an organization who assists homeless veterans by bringing them together with service providers. Their goal is to find places to live, job training and employment for our most challenged combat heroes.
