New Buffalo Wild Wings to Open in St. Clair Shores
Mayor Kip Walby announced Monday night that a Buffalo Wild Wings will be coming to vacant lot on Harper, near 9 Mile, where Shore Crest Lanes once stood.
Buffalo Wild Wings is coming to St. Clair Shores to the location of the former Shorecrest Lanes, the mayor said Monday night.
Mayor Kip Walby announced the popular sports bar's plans—one of most anticipated, and long-rumored, developments in St. Clair Shores—during Monday's City Council meeting.
"We are really excited we were able to work with the developer and property owner," Walby said. "You should see a sign see a sign: 'Coming Soon: Buffalo Wild Wings' at Shorecrest Lanes."
There is no specific timetable for the development, as the city just came to an agreement with the developer who purchased Shorecrest Lanes Friday. The development has to go through the city's planning department and then come before City Council before construction can begin.
A former used car lot north of the property, on Harper, will also be razed for the project. Linda's Place, which is located on the corner of 9 Mile and Harper, will remain, the mayor said.
He added that the developer will also be looking for additional tenants for the property.
The intersection is highly traveled, according to city officials, with nearly 17,000 cars passing daily through 9 Mile and Harper.
Walby hinted other developments may be announced by the end of the year.

I've knew that this would eventually be worked out with the surrounding businesses so that a attractive corner could be acheived. Such good new for a such a derserving city.

Boo. We can't do better than a chain sports bar for one of the biggest intersections in the city?

Would you rather a nail salon or a gold exchange? Perhaps a dollar store? Stop complaining.

I'm with David F...True it would be nice to see a great "mom and pop" or even a Michigan based company occupy that corner but I will welcome BW3 with open arms as opposed to ANOTHER CVS, RiteAid or worse yet a Dollar store.

I would have rather seen a borders, Starbucks or a few boutiques put there, Bdubs is just so low class. SCS has endless amounts of bars and restaurants, we need more of a balance like Royal Oak and less crap that belongs in Roseville on Gratiot.
