Alleged Cell Phone Thief Arrested After Chase

The following information was supplied by the St. Clair Shores Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

St. Clair Shores police officers were on patrol March 26 when they were flagged down by a resident who said two of his cell phones were stolen while he was in the Tubby's on Harper.

The man said he saw the suspect, who was later identified as a 29-year-old Detroit resident, outside of the sub shop. When the man exited, he found two of his cell phones missing from his car.

When he located the man, he asked if he had taken the phones and then the man started running. Officers saw the suspect run behind a business at Chalon and Harper as he tried to hide behind a dumpster. He then continued to flee before he was arrested on Brys.
